Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect the account information you provide, such as your email address and username, along with your preferences and basic technical information needed to keep the Service secure. If you sign in with Google, Discord, or Twitch, Supabase receives the account details made available by the selected provider, such as your email address, display name, avatar URL, and provider identifier. We do not receive your social-provider password. We do not store passwords. Sign-in uses social providers or one-time email magic links, so Stranger AI never receives or stores a password for your account. Conversations may be stored as text and translations so they remain available to you and the AI personalities can maintain continuity. We do not store raw webcam frames or recordings of your voice. If you enable camera mode, up to five compressed frames are sent for transient AI analysis with that turn and are not stored by Stranger AI.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stranger AI does not store your full payment-card details, but keeps the records required to manage purchases and subscriptions. We also track how much of your plan's usage allowance you consume so we can show it to you and enforce plan limits.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide conversations and media, maintain your account and preferences, process payments, keep Stranger AI safe and reliable, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use your conversations for third-party advertising.

3. AI Processing and Service Providers

Stranger AI sends the context needed to generate or classify text, images, video, speech, and optional camera frames to its AI providers. Our current providers include OpenRouter (text, speech, and camera analysis), Runware (image generation), Supabase (authentication and database, including social sign-in), Cloudflare (media storage), and Stripe (payments). Optional social sign-in uses Google, Discord, or Twitch, whose own terms and privacy policies also apply to the authentication data they process. These providers may be replaced as the Service evolves.

4. Human Access to Conversations

We do not read your conversations. A limited number of authorized people may access specific messages only when you explicitly ask for support and grant us access. Access is limited to people with a legitimate need and only for the purpose you requested.

5. Cookies, Local Storage, and Analytics

We use only the cookies and local storage needed for authentication, security, and preferences such as your selected theme and chat settings. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers. If enabled, we measure site traffic with cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics that do not identify you or track you across sites.

6. Data Retention

Your personal data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time from your profile. This deletion is permanent and cannot be recovered. After deletion we keep only: limited financial records required by law, anonymous aggregate statistics that no longer identify you, any feedback or deletion reason you chose to submit (with your email), and ban records (email and IP) where an account was banned.

7. Your Data Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to:

• Access and receive a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion, restriction, or portability of eligible data
• Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing

8. Age Requirement

Stranger AI is strictly for users aged 18 or older. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will delete the account and associated personal data.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated version and, where required, provide additional notice or request consent.
